Liebster Award 2019 Nomination

So, the other day I was nominated for the 2019 Liebster award. I’d never actually heard of that award before, but I still felt honoured. I’ve only started embracing blogging recently even though I’ve had this site for years. So I was stunned that weirdchickchronicles would pick me, especially since she’s got such a popular blog (go visit). Though these last few weeks of posting regularly have shown me the quality of the blogging community. Anyway, thank you weirdchickchronicles!

So back to this award, it’s basically a “blogger’s blogger” award, for recognizing others in the blogging community…which makes the nomination even nicer. The rules can be found here.

So, as part of my nomination I have to answer the questions set by Weirdchickchronicles, and then nominate 2-6 people and ask them 5 questions.

Here are my answers to Weirdchickchronicles’ questions.

What Would The Would Be Like If You Were Never Born?

Minor differences. The sky would be green. There would be only thirteen days in October. There would be no such thing as the animal called ‘the otter’.Other than that; much the same.

There Are Two People In This World.. Do You Prefer Soap Or Sanitizer?

Soap. It smells and feels much nicer. Also, my wife works for Lush, so we get good soap!

What’s One Hidden Talent Most People Don’t Know You Have?

If I wrote it here it wouldn’t be hidden anymore 😉 I think most people who know me probably know where my talents lie. I’d like them to tell me where they are though because I’d like to find them myself.

One Has To Go: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Or Amazon?!

Tumblr.

Describe The Worst Date You’ve Ever Been On!

I’ve probably ruined quite a few for myself either being awkward or an ass. There’s no dirt to be dished on anyone here though sadly. Apart from myself apparently.

Do You Think That Moral Education Should Be Taught With Academics In Your Schools?

This is something that I’m not aware of so I had to Google it. I think that teaching kids about moral issues is important. But, determining their specific moral behaviour, less so. I don’t think that a subject like that should be taught in a prescriptive way though because it’s not black and white. There’s complexity in it and I think kids need to understand that. Having the idea that something is binary can be problematic.

What’s The Meaning Behind Your Blog Name?

That’s easy. It’s the name I was born with. I’m boring. No fancy pen names here.

If You Had A Chance To Enter An Alternate Universe, With No Knowledge Of Your Family–Where You Could Start Over Mentally With Everything You Currently Know About Business– Would You Go If It Meant Losing Your Current Family?

I’m fine where I am. I doubt I’d get much further with my knowledge anyway. It’s perseverance and confidence I need.

In Retrospect To The Previous Question: What If You Had A Chance To Pick The Family (Or Parents) You Were Born To And/Or The Age You Returned?

Maybe I’d come back and have John and Yoko as my parents. (Not sure where that just came from) Though then John Lennon would die when I’m two… second thoughts, I might just stick where I am.

What’s One Way A Person Could Tell That You’re Upset With Them?

I get stroppy. I’m not one for hiding my emotions very well.

Has Your Diary Or Journal Ever Been Read By Someone You Didn’t Want Reading It?

I don’t keep a diary. (My answers are really not the most exciting!)

So Here Are My Nominations…

Multiplemichael . If you’ve checked out my blog previously, you may have seen that I’ve shared his renderings of me a few times. I love the style of his pictures, but I’m always insanely weirded out in the most positive way that he has used my face in his work. (It’s not just me he’s done that to, go check out his other work.) Also, I’d love to know about the person behind the blog!…I say “he” based on the notion that it’s a guy named Michael who creates the blog, but that might just be a cool pseudonym, or there could be several Michael’s…a legion of him.

Chris Hewitt. Such a great writer and such a well put together blog. Also, very supportive and so positive. I hope to cross blog paths with you often in the future!

Nattinatters. I really like her writing. Go check it out. She keeps a great blog, and I’m enjoying the writing challenges that I’ve seen her posting. Give her an award.

There are quite a few supportive people on here who I see liking and commenting on my writing quite a bit. I’m always very chuffed to see the same names pop up over-and-over. So, even if you’re not one of the three names I’ve listed above, thanks for stopping by and reading my badly. Punctuated, words;

Knowing that people are actually reading my posts helps motivate me to get my finger out and write more.

So, for those I’ve nominated, follow the rules, repost, and answer me these questions:

  1. If you could have one celebrity, one politician, and one fictional character around for brunch, who would you pick?
  2. There are no sunsets to science, but in your opinion, what has been the best things that science has brought mankind?
  3. The human race is pretty much doomed. In the final seconds of humanity; what will be the last words spoken? and, who will say them?
  4. Please explain why I should believe your favourite “conspiracy theory”?
  5. You have the option of solving one problem in the world right now, what would it be?

And that about wraps up my nomination acceptance post.
