Contacting your doctor for help is a good starting point, but there are professionals out there who are trained specifically in mental health, such as counsellors or specialist psychotherapists, and it’s a good idea to speak to one of them.

They might recommend that you speak to someone regularly for a little while to help you understand your thoughts, emotions, and so much more. Or, they might recommend another course of treatment like CBT or DBT, depending on your needs and circumstances.

There are lots of talking therapy options, and it’s important to find someone you can trust. This will help you open up so you can get the full benefit of the talking therapy.
