It’s going to be expensive, you can count on a big headache, and overall it can be considered fairly annoying too. But the legal requirements of obviously needed so everything can be safe for all parties. This is usually the biggest obstacle, solely the fact that a lot of cost, time, and effort is needed.
2. Lack of Experience
Not so much about lack of experience in your field, but mostly the lack of experience with the entrepreneurial aspect of it all. Honestly, one of the biggest challenges for private practice owners is navigating the business side of their business. Those who are new to private practice often struggle with this aspect of their business.
There’s a lot that needs to go into it, like choosing the right location, getting the ideal patients, marketing, the right suppliers, employees, and the list goes on and on. It can be immensely hard, and it’s not like you can easily ask for help from competitors. So the lack of experience and essentially navigating everything yourself is often tough.

Even when it comes to starting your own private practice from the ground up, your business is going to be seen like any other when it comes to trying to get investment. It can even be challenging just getting a loan from a bank.
For a lot of professionals who start a private practice, they spend years saving up, hoping it’ll be just the right amount just to get their foot in the door. It’s a harsh reality, but that’s how it is.
