DAY 6- 30 Day Writing Challenge

Today’s writing prompt comes courtesy of- Janet Crum, a writer with attitude who has an exciting way with words! Janet asked “How about a flash piece written with only dialogue?” . Let’s see how that turns out!!

If you would like to help me out with more challenges, please drop a comment on the original challenge post and check back in a few days and I will do whatever you ask!

Are you listening?

Yes.

Well, what did I just say?

You asked if I was listening.

No. Before that.

I don’t know.

You’re pathetic. Why were you not listening to me?

I don’t know.

I’m not going to repeat myself for me.

That’s fine I am not asking you to.

It was important though.

Well I guess it doesn’t matter now.

Don’t you care?

Well if it’s that important you will tell me again. I am not sure what it is that I am supposed to be caring about, or not caring about anyway.

I told you. I’m not repeating myself for you.

Fine.

No. It’s not fine.

Well tell me. Or, don’t tell me. It’s up to you.

I want to take it back now anyway.

There’s no need to take anything back. I didn’t hear you.

That doesn’t change it from my point of view. I still said it.

Look. I don’t even know what you’re talking about and I need to go.

Right. Okay. I guess I’ll see you around.

Yes. Bye.

I said that I love you.

  1. Every day we take part in conversations and during that important time we allow ourselves moments of distractions. Distractions that have little significants to our day but allow us to miss out in the most important moments.

  2. Reblogged this on Peter Wyn Mosey and commented:

From my 30 Day Writing Challenge- This was the most popular post. I just re-read it because I had actually forgotten all about this piece, and I am still pretty happy with the way it turned out! Let me know what you think!

  3. This is a wonderful piece – and I’m honored that you chose my prompt. I’m also pretty sure I’ve been in arguments that sounded way too much like this 🙂
