Sometimes urgent printing is urgent for a very real reason, not just because somebody forgot to plan ahead, although yeah, sometimes that’s exactly what happened. Maybe an event is tomorrow or the next day, the brochures still need printing, the poster files just got approved way too late, or somebody noticed at the last second that menus, flyers, or signage are missing. That’s usually when the stress kicks in, and it’s also when tiny artwork mistakes become a much bigger deal than people expect. Yep, you read that right. Usually, it’s the smallest things that cause these delays, too.
In fact, this infographic goes through ten of the most common issues that can hold a print job up, and honestly, a lot of them are the kind of things people only learn about after something goes wrong (which, of course, you want to avoid here). A design might look perfectly fine on screen, then cause problems the second it goes to print. The same goes for low-resolution images, as these can come out blurry, RGB colours can print differently than anticipated, and missing bleed can leave those awkward white edges nobody wants.
Then there’s all the other stuff that tends to get overlooked, like text being too small, important details sitting too close to the edge, fonts not embedding properly, or files being sent in the wrong format. Honestly, even just skipping a proof check can turn into a costly mistake when something gets printed in bulk exactly as-is.
But thankfully, there’s a fix to all of this, and the infographic tells that too! So for anyone dealing with a last-minute deadline, it’s a smart guide to keep nearby.
