(A Field Of) Scapegoats

a field of scapegoats

We didn’t start the fire” he said

“they did” he said

as he pointed at his field of scapegoats.

“We didn’t start this war” he said

“they did” he said

as he milked his field of scapegoats.

“We didn’t ask for this” he said

“they made us do it” he said

-without freewill while threatening the scapegoats.

“We shouldn’t have to put up with this” he said

“they don’t!” he said

opening up the slaughterhouse door for the scapegoats.
