Last week, for Peoplespeakup’s online gathering of Spoken Word Saturday, I had my piece Worn Down Locked Down featured (Go and read it, if you haven’t already done so!).
Peoplespeakup is a local social art group that uses spoken word, writing, and storytelling for building community and well-being.
I don’t really very often read anything I’ve ever written aloud on video. Cringing a bit at the sound of my own voice. But here I am anyway. Maybe I’ll brush up on my skills for the next Spoken Word Saturday..,.
If you’d like to take a glance, I am at 15:17 of this video, and my piece is not very long! Of course, check out the other pieces while you’re at it there are plenty of great pieces on there!
Hope you all enjoy!

Nicely done– I enjoyed your piece. I think everyone hates hearing their voice, but for what it’s worth I think you sound lovely. Cute pup too 🙂
aww thanks 🙂 Maybe I’ll try the whole spoken word thing another go soon then 🙂
You definitely should (especially if you enjoyed doing it) 🙂
I did. I just need more confidence to put myself out there 🙂
I can relate to that lol You’re doing well from what I can see, so that’s a good start 🙂
Brilliant.
You should do more spoken word.
You were great!! 👍🖤
Thanks! I might start edging my way into doing more!
You absolutely should.
And your dog should always make a wee cameo too! 😁🖤
Apparently it’s a thing now!
