DAY 17 – 30 Day Writing Challenge

Today’s challenge comes from Tnkerr’s weekly writing prompts – this one is ‘Burying Your Friends’

I need your help! I have another 13 days left to go on this challenge. Please comment with any suggestions that you have for challenges on here. You could also tweet me @peterwynmosey or follow my Facebook

We bury our friends even though they may not be dead.

Buried in lives spent putting things off.

Buried in time rapidly passing even though we mean it to move slower.

We bury our friends beneath the weight of our worries.

Buried in missed calls and half made plans.

Buried in the stiltedness of feeling like an acquaintance.

We bury our friends in regret.

We bury our friends in excuses and distractions.

Buried in cynical words behind their backs.

Buried in insecure feelings and imagined facts.

We bury our friends in careers and families.

Buried in loneliness, unable to reach out.

Buried in forgotten memories and broken connections.

We bury our friends in regret.

  1. This is beautifully done and so true. I’ve shared it to my author page on Facebook for others to read 🙂
