Redacted

i have redacted

I have started to go to a local writing group. Recently we were set the challenge of writing ‘Who and When’. Here is a short poem called ‘Redacted’ I wrote based on that theme. I’d love to know what you think about it in the comments.

I have redacted

the faces

and the names,

the times

and the location.

But I have retained

a photocopy

of the feelings

To carry with me

in my back pocket

A snapshot of the shame

as an unhappy souvenir.

Please check out more of my poetry here. I’d love to hear what you think to my work, please drop me a comment in the box below. And, if you liked what you’ve read, be sure and subscribe and keep yourself up-to-date with my other writing.

    1. I am. But maybe more just as a chance to interact with other people. I work from home most of the time and have very little human interaction, so it’s good to be around people occasionally!

    1. I’m not really either. It’s good to push yourself to meet people though. Once you get over the hurdle of going in the first place it gets easier.
