DAY 25 – 30 Day Writing Challenge

Today’s writing challenge is based on my own writing prompt from this week: The warning bell sounds. The last day for humankind on earth is finally here.

I have FIVE  more days of challenges left to do! I’d love to do YOUR challenge next. Drop me a comment below, or Tweet me @peterwynmosey, or Facebook me @peterwynmosey or drop me an email at [email protected]

The warning bell sounds. The last day for humankind on earth is finally here. And as the alarming scream of a dying planet intensifies, smothering the groans of those who would greedily scoff in the face of reason; no lessons will ever be learnt. If we had the chance we’d do it all again.

The warning bell sounds. The last day for humankind on earth is finally here. And as the last drop of water is drunk by the richest man on the planet, nobody stops to ask him how he will enjoy the void that he has created. If he had the choice he would drink it all again.

The warning bell sounds. The last day for humankind on earth is finally here. And as we breathe our last, the cars stop. The lights go off for one last time. We will finally have met our net zero emissions targets two minutes too late. If the politicians were still alive they would all argue that they were robust enough targets all along. Blame the data. Blame the last government. Blame another country. And, if they had the choice they would do it all again.

      1. Go for it! I fervently believe in conveying utter immediacy in writing and telling the story entirely through the characters’ perceptions and experiences – with occasional 3rd person short narratives to settle any confusion.
        Good luck!
